They Died Too Young

All too often, fate has a cruel way of snatching away the brightest and most influential people at the prime of their lives. Those of us left behind wistfully wonder what might have happened if they had been spared for just a few more years, given a chance to complete their work, and make even more of a difference to the world they no longer inhabit.

Well there is no point in wistfully wondering things like that, because they are gone. But in the articles below, I will consider the achievements of such figures, give details of how they died, and plenty more besides.

#1 Jack “The Hat” McVitie. Died: 29th October 1967. Age unknown.

#2: Bobby Moore. Died: 24th Febuary 1993. Age 51.

#3 Rod Hull and Emu. Died: 17th March 1999. Age 63.

#4 Flight Lieutenant Glenn Miller. Died: 15th December 1944, aged 40

#5 Hairy Mary. Died 30th November 1993 aged 11

#6 Marvin Gaye. Died: 1st April 1985, aged 44

#8: Lee Harvey Oswald. Died: 24th November 1963. Aged 24

#7: Paul McCartney. Died: 25th August 1966. Aged 24

#9 Barbara Cartland. Died: 21st May 2000. Aged 98.

#10 Big John Holmes. Died: 13th March 1988. Aged 43

#11 Lord Haw Haw. Died: 3rd January 1946. Aged 39.

#12 Auntie Doris. Died: 3rd December 1995. Aged 81

#13 Captain Lawrence Oates: Died 16th March 1912 aged 31

#14: Rasputin: Died December 16th 1916, aged 47

#15: George Formby Senior Died 8th February 1921 aged 45

#16: Rudolph Valentino. Died August 23rd 1926, aged 31

#17: Bix Biederbecke: Died August 6th 1931 aged 28

#18: Howard Carter. Died March 2nd 1939, aged 64.
